Kennel, Cage Dryer, and Fear Free
GLG is a kennel-free grooming salon. Being kept in a kennel is one of the top stressors for dogs. For many dogs, being stuck in a locked cage is associated with going to the vet, while for former shelter dogs, it may create a traumatic stress response because of their past experiences. Therefore, giving dogs the freedom of movement is a top priority for us.
Cage dryers involve placing a dog in a cage where air is blown through to aid in drying. This method can be stressful for dogs as they are confined in a small space. In addition, the rapid heating of the air poses a risk of overheating or even death, particularly for small, brachycephalic or dogs with breathing issues.
We will NEVER use a cage dryer to dry your dog. Instead, we opt for hand drying or fluff blow drying, ensuring individual attention to each dog. Our priority is the well-being of your pets, guaranteeing a high-quality grooming experience every time.
Cancellation, No-shows, and Reschedules
We respectfully ask that clients give us at least 48 business hours’ notice when they need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. However, we would appreciate more notice if possible! We know you (and your pet) are busy and might need some flexibility occasionally.
Every customer is required to keep a card on file.
GLG will hold the card as a no-show/late cancelation protection. A no-show or last-minute cancellation is defined as any appointment canceled within 48 business hours. If this occurs, the client’s card will be charged $50% of their scheduled groom.
Matting Policy
We recommend that all pets be groomed every eight weeks or less. Even if they don’t require a haircut, their nails, ears, and coats still need attention.
In cases of minimal matting, no extra fee will be incurred.
An additional matting fee will be applied if matting requires more than 15 minutes of dedicated care. Matting charges are $1.00 per minute.
In instances of severe matting, a shave-down may be recommended by your groomer. A close shave-down of a dog increases the chances of nicks, scrapes, or cuts during grooming. Moreover, restricted oxygen flow under mats may lead to skin redness, itchiness, irritation, and bleeding. In these cases, your groomer will not be held accountable for any grooming-related injuries or consequences related to de-matting or otherwise. Removing excessive matting is delicate and time-consuming. A matting fee of $1.00 per minute will be applied to any extra time this takes outside of the scheduled grooming time.
Dogs whose coats are so matted as to require a pre-shave will be charged $1.00 per minute for the extra time added to the average groom time, plus a $6 sharpening fee for any blades dulled by use on a dirty, matted coat.
Prevention:
We are happy to provide tips and tricks for minimizing or preventing matting between appointments. Feel free to ask your groomer about the best methods for maintaining your pet's coat.

Handling and Pet Behavior Policy
Our pricing is based on the average time and supplies necessary to groom a cooperative dog in good condition. We have taken these averages over years of grooming experience.
A handling fee will be applied to dogs that require special handling, try to bite, flail around, need two people to get done, or have other complications that require extra time and supplies.
Aggressive dogs will not be tolerated.
If, on rare occasions, a dog is either so aggressive or has other known sensitivities that require us to stop the process and send the dog home, we will still charge for the time involved with handling and keeping your pet comfortable while waiting to get picked up.
We appreciate your understanding and will do our best to minimize this expense.

Frequency Policy
Again, we recommend grooming all pets every 8 weeks or less. Keeping pets on a regular schedule helps staff maintain a relationship with them and ideally keeps them in good shape so grooming isn’t painful.

Grooming Interruptions
Appointment times are estimates.
Working with animals does not allow us to be exact with our schedule. We do our best to stay on time. However, unforeseen things happen.
For your pup's safety, please do not interrupt the groomer during the grooming process. Most dogs get “jazzed” to see you arrive and no longer cooperate once you are in sight. This puts the pup at a higher risk of an accident and makes the grooming process take longer overall. You are welcome to call or text the salon for an update on your pet.
If you arrive early before the groomer notifies you that your pup is done, the groomer has the right to end your grooming session before completion, and you will be charged the full grooming price.
Photo and Video Policy
Good Life Grooming may take pictures or videos of my pet during grooming. I consent to the use of these materials for marketing or promotional purposes. We promise to respect your sensitivities, so please notify us if you are uncomfortable with your pet appearing on social media or our website.

Flea & Tick Policy
Fleas: All dogs coming to the salon must have flea and tick prevention within 30 days of their appointment.
Dogs with fleas will be sent home immediately and charged a minimum of $30 for clean-up.
Ticks: If your dog has more than five ticks, we are spending extra time removing them from your dog. The first five ticks are included, and there will be a $1.00 fee for each tick removed after that.
